Romania with Chamats Travel: From Bucharest to the Castles of Transylvania
4-Day Trip
DAY 1
Early morning departure from the meeting point and journey towards the Greek–Bulgarian border at Ormenio. After the necessary border control, entry into Bulgaria and stops along the way for coffee and a light meal.
We continue our journey entering Romania via the “Friendship Bridge” over the Danube. Arrival in Bucharest, check-in at the hotel, and free time for a first introduction to the historic city center.
Overnight stay.
DAY 2
After breakfast, departure for a beautiful drive through the Prahova Valley, passing through the picturesque Sinaia, a famous mountain resort. We continue to the renowned Bran Castle, associated with the legend of Dracula.
We then head to Brașov, an impressive city with strong medieval and Teutonic influences. Tour of the old town, including a visit to the Black Church and other important landmarks. Free time for lunch and shopping.
Return to Bucharest and overnight stay.
DAY 3
After breakfast, the guided tour of Bucharest begins. We visit the Patriarchal Cathedral, the Greek Church, and the Village Museum, featuring traditional buildings from all over the country. We will also see the impressive Romanian Athenaeum, the Arch of Triumph, and the monumental Palace of the Parliament, one of the largest buildings in the world.
Afterwards, free time for lunch and shopping. In the evening, optional night out. Overnight stay.
DAY 4
Breakfast and departure for the return journey. We cross once again via the “Friendship Bridge” and make a stop at historic Veliko Tarnovo, the former capital of the country. We then continue towards the Ormenio border crossing and return to Greece, concluding the excursion.
